Water balancing will ensure prime efficiency of all your pool and spa treatment chemicals as most are designed for optimal performance at pH 7 - 7.4. Saving you money and time by ensuring you are getting the most from your chemicals.

The balance of your water is first and foremost a question of correctly adjusting the pH. The pH level is too often neglected but it is essential in easily avoiding a number of common problems: eye and skin irritation, cloudy water or the development of algae.

The pH defines the acid or alkaline nature of the water. It runs on a scale from 0 to 14, bearing in mind that pure water is equal to 7.0. The recommended pH value for swimming pool water is between 7.0 and 7.4.

The TAC offers information about the level of bicarbonates and carbonates. The measurement is expressed in °f or mg/l and the “ideal” value is generally located between 8 and 14°f (80 and 140 mg/l)

The TH offers information about the level of calcium and magnesium. Similarly to the TAC, the TH is expressed in °f or mg/l and the value is generally located between 15 and 25° (150 and 250 mg/l)

Dosage and Safety

> Sodium Hydrogen Sulphate

> If pH reading above 7.6 you need to lower the pH

> Sprinkle 15g per 1m³ of water into the spa, with the pumps and filtration running and no bathers present. Reduces level by 0.1

> Continue filtration and re-test after 15 minutes

> Repeat the treatment until pH falls within the range 7.2-7.6

> Dose rate can be doubled in hard water pools

> Do not mix with other products

> Store in a dry, well ventilated place with temperatures not exceeding 35°C

HTH Spa pH Minus Micro-Balls - 2kg

HTH Spa pH Minus Micro-Balls correct high levels of pH (above 7.6) or alkalinity (above 160mg/l). High pH and/or alkalinity can lead to problems with cloudy water and scaling of surfaces and pipework. High pH will make chlorine sanitisers less effective and high alkalinity can make it difficult to adjust the pH.
